Kimba

Organized by KCPP Volunteers

New Chipin Started
This Chipin expired before we could extend the expiration date, so we have started a new Chipin for Kimba (now Juno) here:

http://kcdogrescuevolunteers.chipin.com/juno-mcgruff-formally-known-as-kimba

Please head over there to make your donation and just like before, all money donated will go directly to Juno's care!

THANK YOU!
P.S.
In the update below, I forgot to mention that KC Veterinary Care not only provides outstanding, compassionate care, they give us a 30% rescue discount on our total bill.

Kimba now named "Juno" and receiving care at KC Veterinary Clinic
First a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated. We will need every penny of the money we've raised thus far, as Kimba (now named Juno McGruff) will have to receive IV fluids, powerful antibiotics and be boarded in an isolation suite (because she is contagious) for nearly 2 weeks until it is safe for her to go to her foster home.

Unfortunately she took a turn for the worst this morning. She began coughing more and refused to eat this morning. She also threw up the water she drank.

Thankfully, she is receiving excellent care at KC Veterinary Clinic and the doctors are optimistic right now.

Meet Kimba
Kimbaended up at the Kansas City Missouri Animal Shelter (now called KC Pet Project) after being found as astray. She arrived in terrible shape & she desperately needs help. Since shecame to the shelter 12/30/11, she just lays in one spot never barking orresponding to much of anything. You can tell she has had a rough life by all ofthe scars and cuts on her little body. She is also super skinny and has a runnynose. Last weekend at the shelter's big adoption event, everyone just walkedright by her kennel without a second glance. Volunteers adore her & cannotstand to see her overlooked time & time again. One fabulous staff member& volunteer wrote:
“After talking to her and scratching her head for about 5minutes, she seemed to perk up a little and even stood up. She looked at mewith the saddest eyes just begging me to love her. I honestly think that no onehas ever really shown her any love -- what a terrible tragedy it will be if sheis not saved and has to die alone at the shelter. She will make someone anawesome loving forever friend if given the chance to recover.”
We want to rescue this sweet girl, but we desperately needdonations to help pay for her veterinary care. No amount is too small. Can youfind it in your heart to donate $1, $5 or more to help this poor girl? Anyamount is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
